Below is an overview of some of the functionality provided within the Equip Online service.
Student Dashboard
The Student Dashboard is a place where students are reminded of their goals and can use a suite of different tools to strategically achieve them. They have access to a calendar, a task management system, a progress report, communication links with staff and parents, and a forum for discussing issues of significance.
Student Calendar
The Equip Student Calendar allows students to plan events, tasks and hours of study, and then tick them off as they go. The calendar is an innovation in web development, combining the best advances in web 2.0 technologies to meet the specific needs of the student.
Student Task List
Students have access to a detailed task management system, encompassing a task list and the assessment planner. Individual tasks can be logged in folders and sub-folders, assigned due dates and organised by subject or extra-curricular activities.
Student Assessment Planner
Equip has taken a proven educational tool and made it dynamically accessible to all students. When electing to make an individual task an assessment, the task is automatically added to the assessment planner. This strategic, workflow tool sets up two different 8-point progress checklists to help students identify any sub tasks associated with two different categories of assessments (Essay/Research and Exam/Test). Students can set individual goal marks and create personalised sub-tasks with individual deadlines (especially useful for larger assessment like Major Works), ensuring every avenue for success.
Student Subjects
Students have a different page for each subject. This allows them to target relevant learning strategies at specific tasks. Students keep tabs of their work and information into individual reports for each subject. The software allows a student to record their target hours of study for the week and compare that to their accomplishments, whilst recording the type of work that was done.
Partnership Wall
Progress is made through partnership and this intuitive accountability tool fosters partnership through communication between students, parents and staff. This easy-to-use forum allows parents and staff to encourage and spur students on towards achieving their goals.
Student Goals
Students can set specific and measurable targets for their studies and extra-curricular activities. This tool creates a culture of goal-setting and keeps students focussed on progress and achievement. Students can post inspiring personal statements and set individual targets for the number of hours studied per week for each subject.
Student Co-Curricular Activities
The education of a balanced student is at the heart of Equip Online. The software accommodates and encourages involvement in co-curricular activities, and uses a range of tools to help students in managing these activities in conjunction with their homework and study. Balancing time between study, sport, volunteer work, music, part-time jobs and socialising is a life skill that Equip Online helps to build.
Teacher Dashboard
From the Teacher Dashboard each student has access to student data for the purpose of accountability and support. Teachers can search for students and create groups (classes) of students, view their academic progress, print off a report, communicate with parents and even send an SMS to the student.
Parent Dashboard
The Parent/Guardian Dashboard allows each parent/guardian to dynamically view the progress of their children at school. From the dashboard, they can access their student’s weekly calendar, task list, print a report or communicate with the relevant teacher or student.
